I met my husband in law school at USD. We
practiced law in Centerville, SD, for almost 20 years. We have three kids.
Frustration with the school system and with using my legal skills to patch
up avoidable messes, I went back to USD to get a teaching degree. After
some substitute teaching, I worked for what used to be Dakota Cooperative
Telephone Company and spent the better part of three years organizing a
distance learning project connecting USD with small schools in the area.
Since 1998 we've lived in Frederick, MD, where my husband managed a radio
station until it was sold this year. I haven't had a paying job here,
but am occupied with non-profit work focused on the health of people,
the natural world and relationships among us all.
It seems to me that this is a really good time of life for re-connecting
with our shared history and with each other. |
