Compared to some of the bios my life has been pretty uneventful. Was married in '64 at the ripe old age of 16. Our first child, a daughter was born in 67 with a son being born in 68. Great kids that have grown into great adults. My daughter gave us 2 granddaughters and our son gave us 2 grandsons. The first grandson will graduate in 2007 from VHS. Grandchildren are Karl,17 Joey, 15 Makayla,12 and Kaitlyn,10 love them all dearly.Have always been in Vermillion. We farmed for many years, selling our farm in 96. I helped out on the farm doing whatever needed done for many years. I also was receptionist at the Broadcaster for a number of years. Left the Broadcaster in 96 or 97 can't remember exactly, to start driving semi with my husband. It was a great way of life to see the country and be together. Most people don't believe when I tell them I drove an eighteen wheeler but I did and am proud of the accomplishment.
The great tragedy of my life was the death of my husband from a heart attack in June of 2000. Thanks to all of you former classmates who found out and sent cards it was a wonderful thought. Thanks to my many friends I survived and moved on. Which shows in one of the pics I sent. I went from 18 wheels to 3. Love my trike, we motorcyled for many years and was not ready to give it up. Just wasn't quite brave enough for 2 wheels. I am now a secretary for the Dean at the School of Education at USD. Wonderful job, wonderful people to work with.
I am hoping to be able to be to some of the events at least. The only trouble being it is Rally Week at Sturgis (as you will notice by all the bikes you see as you are coming to Vermillion) and I will be out there for the week. We all must have our priorities.
